Royal Ascot
The world’s most prestigious racing event, Royal Ascot, will take place at Ascot England over 5 days from the 15th – 19th June. The Royal Meeting stages seven Group One (championship) races spread over five days which host in total 17 Group races and some of the most famous and prestigious handicaps in the whole calendar. This is one of the premier horse racing events in Europe which attracts runners from all corners of the globe such as from Austalia, USA and Asia and South Africa.
The Royal Meeting is home to one of the most famous and historic races in the world, the Gold Cup, which has been won every year since Ascot reopened in 2006 by the great stayer Yeats. Other races include the King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes, the country’s most valuable all aged championship race at £1 million; the Dubai Duty Free Shergar Cup in August, which attracts star jockeys from all around the world for racing’s only team competition; and the Queen Elizabeth II Stakes.
